GVYRS Fall School League

For decades the Greater Victoria Youth Rowing Society (GVYRS) has teamed up with the Lower Vancouver Island School Sports Association (LVISSA) to host a fall rowing league for high schools on the lower island.

Venues in the past for this league have been Elk Lake, Esquimalt Lagoon and the Gorge Waterway. For the 2013 season only Elk Lake was able to host the league, and this caused great strain on resources. We are excited that the league returned to the Gorge Waterway in 2015, hosting 6 high schools at the Gorge Narrows Rowing Club. These schools were Oak Bay, Victoria High, SMUS, Esquimalt High, Spectrum and St. Andrews.

Information will be posted as planning happens for the 2018 season. If you are interested in your school rowing on the Gorge for the 2018, contact us, GVYRS, and your school administration.

High School Plus

For Grade 11 and 12 students looking to increase their fitness and skill level over the Fall High School League, GVYRS is now allowing up to two additional practices a week.  Details for this program will be available as the season approaches.
